I met Chris Furer at the September Colorado NWTA; he was the body work coordinator for the weekend and did some work on me on Saturday afternoon. About two weeks ago he gave me some physical therapy exercises to do (these are sort of free-form notes I took during our call):

Serious weather in Colorado yesterday and the day before - tons of rain and big time hail.
Fortunately I was not out in any of the weather - today is clear and dry, so I biked to work this morning. Had to get off my bike and walk past this pile of hail on the path just west (north?) of Kennedy Golf Course.
Leaves are still on the trees, but last weekend I saw Orion in the sky. He's a winter constellation and I remember not wanting him to go away in 2013, as that meant that my race was getting closer.

Would you look at that!
Sure enough: I am registered for the 2015 Ironman Wisconsin. Registered last Monday, the day after this year's event (Johnny says that a guy he knows from Mount Vernon, IA is the fellow who won this year, setting a course record - what a beast! I want to meet him).
I stepped on the scale the other night and I'm at 190, about 16 pounds above where I was last year at this time.

Running near the path

Well, THAT was an adventure.
This morning I woke up with enough time that I figured I'd check on Uday before heading to the race site. For some reason I agreed to take a ride in a car that had its hood up (one of the two fellows involved was explaining to me that he had just washed the car; didn't mention what was going on under the hood). Two guys gave it a good, hard push and the driver clutch-started it and we were off.

Altitude Multisport Club's Sunday swims began a couple of weeks ago, and I have been running a couple of times a week. This week I did the Sunday swim, then a run on Wednesday, a 1:45 (ish) ride with Coach Charo yesterday and another run today - and I'm TIRED.
My brain is tired.
Have discovered a dramatic improvement in my sleep quality (using Sleep Cycle app on my phone) when I go to bed before 10:15 or so. Huge difference; it's amazing. Really useful information.

I have a cow tattoo.
Went in to get my commemorative m-dot tattoo yesterday - but since my race was Ironman Wisconsin, I felt that just putting the m-dot itself on my body wouldn't capture it correctly.
I knew I had to have a cow in the design as well.
So here it is: my Ironman tattoo.

Here's a haiku that came to me on Saturday on my first Hess / Happy Canyon / Bayou Gulch loop since my race:
funny how the trees
give no indication that
I have a headwind

"Jordan Graham, from Parker, Colorado - YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!"
What an incredible day. I woke up at 4:30 yesterday morning and ate a sandwich I made the night before; my friend Kathryn drove me down to the Monona Terrace and dropped me off. I had all the time I needed to put my water bottles on my bike, pump my tires, put on my wetsuit and head down to the water.
